Thursday Thirteen

Interesting Things about the town where I live

1. A woman was given a citation for violating the noise ordinance when she was asleep in her own bed, but snoring.
2. We spent $14,000 to build a toad tunnel that nobody has ever seen a toad come near
3. The postmaster’s father built a toad town (Toad Hollow) near the tunnel, but nobody has ever seen a toad in the town either.
4. They recently put solar panels on the buildings in Toad Hollow
5. Our mayor tried to get pot holes in an alley declared a national monument
6. We are a nuclear free zone
7. There are two markers for old Highway 40 in town
8. We have the best bike lanes anywhere
9. Dogs are not allowed in the cemetery, so it has been taken over by wild turkeys
10. People protested the name of “Murder Burger,” so they changed it to “Redrum Burger”
11. The City Council supports Gay Pride day every year.
12. We are known as “the city of bicycles”
13. It is rumored that the old police station is haunted by “a wild haired redheaded woman”

And my grandmother snores VERY loudly, she toadly could get a citation too. ;)
