My favorite is the six books a week from the library. I have that memory, too -- and trying to decide which book to read first. It's a memory that developed into a practice that developed into a passion (or addiction?). I get really uneasy if I don't have some new library books each week!

I'm not sure what a chocolate cream roll is, but just on the name alone, I'm sold.

It's a chocolate sponge cake baked in a pan like a cookie sheet. When it's baked, you flip it out onto a towel sprinkled with powdered sugar, cut off the crusts, and role the cake up until it's cool. When it's cool, spread with whipped cream and frost with chocolate frosting.

I'm hungry now. I haven't had one since I was a kid!!

When it's cool, UNROLL first, then spread with whipped cream and roll back up again. It's kind like a buche de noel, actually.

I was a library lover as a kid, too. I remember how the librarian would always have recommendations for me.
