Our daughter-in-law, Marta, and her sister, Alexis, both celebrate "zero year" birthdays this year, so it was reason to have a party.
The party was at Ned & Marta's house and was somewhat reminiscent of our early married days, when all parties that we had were full of babies. These were four of the youngest.
Some of the Lawsuit crowd are on their second children already. The "older" kids took advantage of the band set-up to show off their musical prowess.
And everybody of every age got a chance to paint a ceramic tile, which Ned is going to have fired and then use to decorate the new planter box that he built.
There was plenty to eat--a table and a counter filled with salads or salad fixings...
...along with a huge juice bar and, later, Ned and his friend K.C. barbequed chicken.
The grown-ups performed, the kids mimicked them. Marta did a rendition of Fever, which she used to sing at Lawsuit shows (see Video of the Day).
Former Lawsuit percussionist, Dan (on Twitter as "Oaktowner") took every opportunity to give me a hard time for my "tragedies" of this week (the blown fuse and the accidentally turned-off light switch). He's been following the saga on Twitter, apparently.
It was a lovely afternoon and I was home in time to feed the dogs. Happy birthday, Marta and Alexis!
